I put this on mu trusty old Colt Ar-15 and it brought the old girl into the 21st century. Fit great and looks even better. This is the third Aero Precision Atlas Hand guard I’ve installed on my guns so I guess you could say I like the product. No problem recommending them to anyone….

Great rail. Nice ergonomics. Very light for such a long rail. Aero did a nice job reducing weight with the top rail while making it comfortable and ergonomic with a holdover grip. Will use this model rail for another build.

I like this handguard and have several. They are very lightweight, yet strong enough for normal use. Fit and finish are great, looks great on a build. Doesn’t feel quite as strong as some from models (by BCM, Daniel Defense, Midwest Industries, or Geissele to name some of the top tier brands) but good enough for most everybody in general. The more oval profile over the top rail feels better in my hand as well. Glad these are back in stock more often again.

Purchased this for a new build. Packaging was done well, and the handguard arrived in perfect condition. It’s extremely lightweight, but feels solid. Mounted up easier than any of the other hanguard I’ve installed, and came with all the necessary tools for installation. Once I had my barrel in place with the gas block installed, it took about ten minutes to install this part. Works great with the gas block I chose: a Spikes Tactical Micro Gas Block – plenty of space inside the handguard surrounding the gas block. Highly recommended.

I purchased two of these, one from Aero directly, and one from OP. It's very light, and the installation is very easy. It comes with everything you need, spacers to make sure your gas tube aligns with the barrel nut grooves, torque wrench tool, etc. One tip to make installation even easier is to put a drop of oil or grease on the ball ratchet mechanism so it clicks and spins very easily, the geared wheel will try to pop to either side of the ball until it's tightened down a bit and the oil makes this part far easier. You can go carbon fiber if your goal is weight savings, but keep in mind that many of those weigh almost as much as this one does, it's not worth paying twice as much. Even the polymer retro guards weigh more than this thing. My 12.5" SBR build came out to 4lbs even, and that's with the optic, sling, and 20rd mag in it. The sling QD points are very snug and secure with BCM swivels, you won't have them popping out on you at all. If you're building a 12.5" middy, the gas block is indeed covered completely by the 10.2" model, and you'll have very easy access to your adjustment screw if using a adjustable block. If carbine gas system, the allen wrench provided with your block should still reach the screw as well, 10.2" works well for both.

I love the handguard and its fit and finish but I dislike Optics Planet. They have the worst customer service. Terrible attitude problems when I have to call them. I would buy elsewhere if I had the choice to do it again. I don't order from them anymore.
