The handguard is indeed light weight with the smallest thinnest barrel nut I have ever seen. No timing of the gas tube is required and the thin profile still perfectly fit around the tall proprietary gas block of my v seven barrel.

Got this for a Frankenbuild 9mm and have NOT been disappointed. Slim, light weight, perfect for small hands, although does need a hand stop, but is absolutely perfect for your 4.5-5” barrels. It’s a little more matte finished than my ranier arms upper but as usual this is something we all look over.

I absolutely love this handguard. It’s perfect for my shorty ar9 build. I used the angstadt arms receiver set as well. Fit is perfect. My barrel is a 4.5 faxon with a vg6 9mm muzzle break. Only thing I didn’t like is when I ordered it, it was supposed to be in stock but then I got an email saying it’s back ordered so I had to wait quite a while to actually get it smh definitely worth the wait though.

As others reviewers mentioned, this handguard doesn’t remain securely attached. It loosens under 5.56 recoil and move forward down the barrel. It’s basically missing the torque plate which can be found in other handguards such as the ones found in Midwest Industries barrels. This may be okay for 9mm but I wouldn’t recommended for 5.56.

Previously reviewed this 5 stars. Would have stayed that way if it had A.) remained securely attached to the barrel nut. And B.) their response to my report was lack luster at best. I checked with a gunsmith after the handguard began walking down the barrel nut under recoil and they discovered that it could be completely removed under proper torque with an armorers hammer and some light taps. I sent in the handguard to angstadt at cost to me and had it coming back to me almost as soon as it got there with an email claiming that they could not replicate the issue and a reminder to apply proper torque specs. I took the handguard straight to my gun smith with my upper in pieces and requested they assemble it completely since angstadt eliminated themselves from the issue I isolated myself from it as well. My gunsmith assembled and discovered the handguard could be removed by hand without the assistance of the hammer. I relayed this to the manufacturer who proclaimed it my issue, my fault, and that the screws must be stripped and that is not covered under warranty. I have since selected a new handguard and will never purchase another angstadt arms product.

Its a light weight hand guard good for small calibers but the barrel nut is not secure, would have preferred a beefier attachment.
