After mounting a scope, the latch on the handle was difficult to grasp and pull. I was going to replace the latch alone, but saw it was not much more for the complete handle with the extended latch. I went with this item because it was made of 7075 T6 aluminum. If you look up the difference between this and the 6061 T6… there is a lot of differences. Enough to make a difference in the durability and longevity? I believe so… but that is only based on the physical differences in the two alloys what others have said. I have installed it but have only cycled the bolt to test it. It functions well… no problem cycling the bolt with the rifle shouldered. The lever may look large but I would not want it any smaller. I do notice pulling on one side of the handle puts an uneven pressure on the right side of the slide. Long term effect will be more wear that usual. I did a modification to this handle…. I drilled a small hole in the right side and used UHMWPE cord and a silicone tube and made a pull cord that stretches from the latch side to the right side.. I rests just below the scope and is easy to pull directly back.

I got this because I needed a charging handle with an extended latch for better access due to the scope leaving little room to grab the handle. It does a good job providing easier access, but the latch angle isn't great. When pulling back on the latch it goes back too far creating an angle that puts torque on the charging handle and pulling it off center to the right. It was an easy fix by putting the latch in a vise, heating it up a little and bending the latch to a more forward facing angle. With that change, it works perfectly.
