The Centurion Arms patented CMR rail system is a lightweight, rugged, one piece, free float hand guard that, when installed, gives the upper a continuous 12 o’clock rail. The CMR system clamps to a proprietary barrel nut that can be installed on 7.62/.308 based AR platform systems. It was designed with the top 1913 rail for mounting the most common accessories, yet does away with the need for 1913 rail at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions and using the MLOK mounting system. Additionally, we built in anti-rotation QD sling swivels in 4 positions. The main objective was to have a smaller, lighter weight, more ergonomic, hand guard that maintains or enhances functionality for the end user. As professional end users ourselves, we know the importance of keeping things simple and that was our design intent here… a K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid) system. As someone else stated here…the threads for the third screw were burred and I wasn't able to get the screw to thread. Fortunately I can tap and clean the threads out. Other than that, the rail is solid and built like a tank. Now for the supplied barrel nut wrench…its made to fit a 3/8's drive torque wrench…and again…the attachment point was so tight the torque wrench couldn't fit…I had to secure it in a vice and take a tool file and slightly remove a couple thousandths of material to allow it to slide on the torque head. Centurion makes a stout product as I can probably use it as a club or drive a fence post into the ground…but their QC is in need of some serious help as this was IN NO WAY SHAPE FORM OR FASHION, plug and play.
