Seeing in MIL-SPEC in as just the starting point, we set out to ensure the best options are available for our demanding customers. Improvements include using 9310 tool steel for the bolt, nitriding the assembly to increase surface hardness, decrease resistance, and have superior corrosion resistance compared to typical chrome and phosphasted bolt carrier groups. All bolts are fully MPI tested to ensure the material is sound and without defects. Bolt lugs are chamfered 45 degrees to ensure reliable action for even the highest pressure hand loads and fast lightweight actions. Faxon Bolt Carrier Groups are Superfinished to reduce friction, increase smoothness of operation, and reduce fouling. Further, they are full-Auto rated and maintain the trip for full-auto fire control groups and new multi-stage trigger systems. Gas keys use grade 8 fasteners and are fully staked for a lifetime of service. Faxon .308 / 6.5 Creedmoor Full-Mass Bolt Carrier Group – Complete – Nitride. Like all Faxon Firearms products, the fit and finish of this bolt carrier is outstanding. It was a perfect fit with the Faxon Barrel that I ordered through Optics Planet as well. I definitely would buy another for my next build.

I used this Faxon .308/6.5 BCG in a recent build using an Aero upper and lower with a Faxon 18” Match grade barrel. Head spacing was perfect and the rifle is shooting sub moa with Hornady 140g Eld Match ammo. I would certainly buy again!

Overall it is what it is. However, when I was taking it apart for the first cleaning, the firing pin retaining pin was very difficult to get back, first time ever having this problem before, so I I had to file down the prong end a little to get it to go all the way back in.

Well machined piece (retired machinist), fits well to barrel. Haven't & won't be able to test for some time. Packaging could be better, thr product put holes in the blisterpak from bouncing around in the box,no apparent damage to part.

I intitaly gave this item a bad review. Faxon however did make it right. I had the extractor failure. They could have just sent me a new updated extractor instead they sent me an entire new BCG. I took the extractor out and compared it to the one that failed they defiantly redesigned the extractor. They also did not ask for the failed BCG back I get to keep that as well. I put a Jp enterprise extractor in that bolt and it runs fine so now I have a complete backup. I also noted in other reviews there was some complaint about the gas key not being staked properly. According to Faxon they use a special process for staking the gas key and what looks like a improperly staked key is just their way of doing it. They say if you stake it the traditional way it could crack the gas key. It does look very nice and clean the way they did it. Outside of the annoying extractor failure this is a great bolt. Any bolt bought from this point forward should last forever without fail I suspect.

Faxon did respond via email and confirm there is indeed a issue with the MIM manufacturing process and they have addressed this with their supplier. If you have this failure they say you are covered under their warranty. Once you reach out to them they will ask for your shipping details and once the updated bolts come in you will be sent a replacement bolt with the updated extractor. They did not say anything about returning the failed bolt. I assume the bolt is all I will receive and the carrier and firing pin and retaining pin and cam pin are reused which is fine with me. I increased my stars from 1 to 3 for their honesty and the timely manner they got back in touch with me. Now all they have to do is make good on that bolt and we are good.
