As with everything else I've gotten from Faxon, this handguard is amazing! It doesn't transfer heat (or cold) into your hands and it is crazy light! I have become enamored with the Mlok system as well, it is super versatile and everything mounted feels beyond secure.

I bought two of these on sale for a good price here through optics. I paired both with v seven titanium barrel nuts, wilson combat 18 223 wylde barrels and slr gas blocks with v seven gas tubes. I am absolutely ecstatic to try these out as they are on my 3 gun builds. I do wish though because I am building a 16" upper optics offered faxon's 15" carbon version. I mean I could order from them but I just have a habit of ordering from optics. Anyways I do recommend this piece and you might as well go all out at get the v seven barrel nut.

I was surprised to find when this finally arrived at my door (it's been out of stock for months) that there was good reason for the delay. They've made a number of non trivial improvements. Most notably the first M-Lok slot forward of the receiver on the 12 o'clock plane is no longer cut out which keeps the stepped up portion in the gas tube away from your fingers. You don't lose any functionality here since the gas tube was so close to the outer diameter you couldn't get any M-Lok nuts in that particular slot anyway. The second major improvement is a pair of lugs at about 11:45 and 12:15 to index the whole unit true to the upper receiver (I don't fully recall but I believe these index along the flats under the picatinny so it'd be compatible with any railed upper). This aids in assembly and keeps you from having to clock the rail by eye as with the old model. Plus, it'd mitigate any potential chance of the rail getting out of clock in use (has never been a problem for me and with the 4 set screws plus two clamping bolts likely never will be). The third and final improvement I noticed is a nice Faxon logo milled into both sides, I only wish they included their shield logo in addition to or instead of their stylized name. My only star deduction is for the somewhat exorbitant price, but, to be fair, it's the best carbon fiber handguard on the market which by extension means it's really the best handguard on the market period.

The product description leads you to believe that the diameter of the handguard is small while in actuality it is rather large. I purchased it for a light PCC thinking that it would be slim. Otherwise the product is of good quality and design.

If you're going for a super lightweight build it's solid. It's a little concerning how small the barrel nut is, but it seems to be fine.

I ordered this handguard because I wanted a light weight option. The Gibbz upper requires a handguard without rotational tabs. Saw this is advertised without them and bought it. When It arrived I saw it had the tabs. Started a chat with a product specialist and was told they are not sure why I would get one with the tabs as they only have the model without them. I sent it back and put in the notes that I wanted a replacement without the tabs. A couple weeks later I received the replacement and it too had the tabs. I have tried to reach out twice to see what should happen. It has been 3 weeks and still no response.
