The Fortis Clutch charging handle was designed with simplicity in mind and for those that use the palm method to charge their weapons. Sometimes we have found over sized charging handles get caught on our gear and rigs. We eliminated the opposite side of the charging handle, but kept the latch side robust. We’re incorporating a new cam system in place of a roll pin and this increases both strength and durability. If you’re looking to upgrade your charging handle, we have a perfect solution for you and it comes in the Clutch. We engineer, design, & develop military grade accessories that look good and functions great. Tested and evaluated by industry professionals, then put to the test by people in the military and law enforcement community. For those that want a more standard approach, don’t forget about our Hammer charging handles. like the title of the review says it is a great little charging handle and it is lightweight, functional and unobtrusive. the finish, fit and quality are exactly what you would expect from a company like Fortis manufacturing. I used on a lightweight and compact AR pistol and it's absolutely perfect for my build.

What a charging handle! Was exactly what I was looking for perfect fit it doesn’t bind and is smooth as butter. I have had many charging handles and this is by far my favorite. It may not be as rugged as some others but it does the job and is light weight and out of the way!

I used to be the "cheapest charging handle possible" guy until I got one of these. It's worth the extra money. Some of my scope cover a basic charging handle so getting my fingers under the scope to pull the lever is tedious. The lever handle on these is so easy to use and sticks out past the side of the scope so you can grab it easily. But even on the units without scopes, this is just better, easier and faster to use. I'll be converting all my AR-15s to these. I just wish they made them for the AR-10.

Very interesting concept. Decided to give it a chance and purchased this item. Overall quality and fit and finish is nice. Only problem is when I put it on my SLR upper part of the lever digs into the upper when I try to pull back the charging handle. I tried it on an Aero precision upper and it clears with no problem. I have a deadfoot arms collapsible stock so part of the stock in fully collapsed position does interfere just a tad with your hand when grabbing the charging handle. If you have a regular buffer tube with collapsible stock it should be no problem.

First off, I commend Fortis for offering the Clutch charging handles at a reasonable price; sometimes, I think premium AR part manufacturers are a bit full of themselves and over price their products. At sub 40$, this Charging handle is a great value! Like most Fortis products, it is certainly top notch quality. Now, if you are going to run the RIGHT handed only, you will be absolutely in love with the Clutch! There is zero slop in the lever, and it takes palm blades or thumb/finger pulls with ease. Unfortunately, I did not get the RIGHT handed version, I have the LEFT handed charging handle. It works fair to good i would say. Only because where the latch hook makes contact with the upper receiver, you will notice the relief machined into the right side of the upper(this is where the latch hook latches into place. Because the latch is on the left, the latch-hook will never latch into place. I mean it works well don't get me wrong! If somehow there was still the latch-hook on the right side with obviously a left lever (again this is why the RIGHT would get 5 STARS because the latch is on the RIGHT side of upper receiver!)

If like me, u only use 1 side of the charging handle to rack ur AR, than this is the best charging handle u can get, hands down. I always use the palm of my hand (facing up or down ) on tge left side of ANY AR no matter what type CH is on it. So the fact that Fortis eliminated the entire left side, IMO, is the most logical way to design a CH thats being used for a rifle thats 100% built to personal specs. I dont see any need for an ambi CH when ik the entire right side is only gonna be there to snag gear or add width to the upper. The only negative aspect i can imagine is if in a real life situation where ur defending urself or family & ur left hand gets injured & is out of action, it would now take u mich more time to manipulate ur bolt. But if ur that seriously injured ur going to be behind some type of cover anyway it u have to manipulate ur CH. Either that or ur out of the fight. Either way, the benifits outweigh the far fetched negatives IMO. Ive been using the Clutch for over a year now & have had 0 issues with strength or quality. The size of the actual handle is just right also, & my hands are a little bigger than "medium". Both function & quality top notch so far & i will use these CH's on every build.. So like I said, if u use one side of ur CH to rack ur weapon, then get the Clutch. Ull love it.
