Fortis SWITCH is an extremely lightweight, yet robust free float rail system designed for the DPMS high profile 308 platform. When designing the SWITCH, we wanted a handguard that was easy to install, but also be able to quickly change rails for a variety of mission or competition specific setups. The rail features a brand new patent pending locking mechanism that allows tool-less removal of the rail. The rail features M-LOK slots, QD attachment points as well as a full picatinny rail on top. The rail design not only looks great, but is very functional in yhand. The piece adds minimal weight to the rifle and you won’t be disappointed! One of the best rail I ever came across the feature that I love is that you could switch it in less than a minute highley recommended also that it is pretty lightweight. I have it on my ar10 build goes perfect with spikes livewire love it!!!!

Light weight, yet sturdy. Good color match to my (Mega Maten), easy to install. I would have rated this item with 5 stars but due to no install wrench not included with the system I give it 3 stars. The system is expensive enough without having to pay for ($25.00) and wait for a wrench, which might never be used again, to arrive

Great 15" long handguard for the 308 Dpms tipe high profile, it matches the Finnish on my upper and lower Receiver. It's really easy to install and you don't need tools to remove or reinstall. It comes with the anti-rotationalBarrel nut you will just need a barrel nut Dpms stile for the barrel nut and no tools for the hand guard

Pros: Light weight, easy on/off, looks…..Con: Won't maintain a zero, shifts fro center line.Okay, for the price this thing should be able to maintain zero. I turns out to be more gimmicky then functional. Mounting a front sight on it will be fruitless as the guard shifts with relative ease and slight pressure. Forget about mounting IR lasers or visible lasers on it. It would fail at hog hunting at night and certainly would not hold out to hard use or military/duty use. I am actually really disappointed in the product considering the price I paid. I fully expect a solid lock up on the hand-guard at this price point. The good part is that since I am running a .308 having an adjustable gas block is essential (IMO) and there is a convenience to quickly taking off the guard to adjust it. Only thing is, there are only so many times you need to do this and maintaining zero has precedence over access. Loosing zero without even taking it off is bad enough but you definitely loose zero when you take it off and put it back on. While it is on very little pressure is needed to push/pull away from the barrel causing a shift which will destroy your zero. If access to adjust gas block is a concern then save your money and buy an extended reach tool/gas-key to make adjustments and buy a more solid mounting guard. Now, that said, this thing is light and on a .308 it is very beneficial if weight saving is important but I just think there are still better options available especially in this price range. I have torqued this down, even past Manufacturer specs. and it still shifts so short of stripping screws and damaging the product I will reserve it for scope only setups when forward zero is not an issue. Recommending this product only because it may still suite some peoples purposes and it is very light weight and very easy to operate. Just don't expect to maintain any confident zero with front iron sights or lasers.

This handguard is lightweight, looks good and seems to be well made. My only negative is the position and style of the lever release on the 6'0clock side. Limits the ability to mount a rail or arca plate on the bottom closer to the reviever for tripod shooting.
