The Enhanced Ejection Port Cover is a drop-in upgrade designed to provide an improved installation process, physical strength, and corrosion resistance over the standard USGI ejection port cover. Traditional stamped-steel ejection ports are malleable, prone to corrosion, and require tools to install. The Enhanced Ejection Port Cover snaps into place easily without having to remove your hand guard or barrel nut, wind any loose springs, or adjust small e-clips. Constructed of impact-resistant injection molded polymer, it is corrosion resistant and will not bend or deform from impacts. Compatible with USGI-pattern AR15 upper receivers that accept USGI ejection port covers. Easy to install. Fast delivery. Very durable feeling, opens and functions as it should. FDE matches rest of furniture as it should. What more could you want from a quality piece of Magpul equipment. Nice addition to a build!

Not a whole lot to say. Those that know the AR platform know that the Mil-Spec dust cover was designed by the same people that wrote the US tax codes. This product reduces weight and is far simpler. Found durability just fine after about 500 rounds (DDM4V7). Fair priced. My only complaint is the MagPul logo could be larger on the cover.

The spring that is supposed to open the cover does not open it. When the bolt pops the cover open it stays in that position which is just cracked open. This causes the spent case to not eject and jam up when the bolt tries to pick up another round. It looks like there is too much material, and the spring that should open the cover the rest of the way is not strong enough to counteract the drag. I will try to sand and carve it down a bit but for $14 it should be good to go.

This has alot of potential to be a cheap weight saver at 9 grams on my scale about as much as spending 60-70$ for a vseven air dust cover with vseven enlarged type 2 rod. As of right now it's only purpose is the bin of shame full of discontinued memorabilia, tried in a colt cage code stripped 6920 upper, 6940 upper, Colt m5 cqc upper, Super duty upper reciever. All have an identical problem following the directions to the letter, you will not have enough spring tension, when the carrier is moved back to extract, the dust cover will open part way but hit a "wall" to swinging never beyond the one o clock position. The cover needs at least 2 more coils of tension on the spring to fight the difference. It's not a reciever issue this is a legitimate design oversight. Installing this on any upper you will get stovepipes as the round will not over come the difference to flip out the rest of the way, stick with a gi or vseven dust cover.

Generally I'm a big fan of Magpul and I have a habit of putting a lot of their accessories on my firearms. I was glad to hear they were making a polymer ejection port cover despite previously stating that they weren't going to make one. After getting my hands on one I'm sorry to say it's subpar compared to similar products on the market. The polymer feels thin, flimsy and likely to break on impact, compared to another similar polymer ejection port cover by Spikes Tactical that feels significantly more robust. Despite the use of polymer the bottom of the dust cover seems to be slightly too thick on the bottom that contains the spring bar. This causes the cover to not open properly on a variety of uppers (not only proprietary ones), I have a an Aero precision GI spec AR 15 upper and the dust cover will only open a few millimeters after pulling the charging handle. This is quite a shame, the cover itself looks good especially on builds that already have a lot of Magpul furniture on them. The self contained spring bar with a pull tab that doubles as the action spring is innovative. However my overall impression is this design was an afterthought and resulted in fitment issues. I ended up going back to the Spikes Tactical cover and this one ended up as a freebie for someone else. Hopefully Magpul does a Gen 2 in the future.
