   Awesome product with super easy installation. I got it because I didn’t want to mess with a rail that may need timing. Even comes with the tool which is good as I have more than one rifle. It’s a little skinny so it makes the rifle look long but thats not an issue for me. I like that they offer different sizes. Requires mini gas block but that’s cheap and super easy install too.

   Handguard was easy to install. The fit up of the Handguard to the barrel nut is very tight,which is good. The small tab that goes between the tension bolts will line up in a small slot in the barrel nut. This helps keep the handguard from sliding forward. The instructions will give you a torque value for the tension bolts. I have three range sessions with this handguard and have seen no movement or had any issues.

   This handguard is sturdy and lightweight, and completely modernized my carbine. I went with the 15" version to cover all but the last inch of my 16" barrel. There is a minimal weight difference from the magpul drop in handguard, delta ring and factory railed gas block setup I had on before. I selected the Aim Sports low profile gas block to go under this guard, and there is plenty of clearance. The only con I can think of, is that some M-lok accessories have slightly longer screws that can hit the gas block before tightening up (ask me how I know) due to the slim nature of this handguard so you have to be conscious of where the screws line up on your accessories.

   Got this for my 300blk pistol build wanted something strong and slim. Installation was easy great quality build and looks great. The securement to the upper is a tight fit won’t have to worry about the Han guard rotating. I have a 10.5” barrel I didn’t go for the next size only because I plan to suppress later and it wouldn’t fit. The finish is very smooth. Only thing is the rear qd mount on the hand guard is obstructed by the barrel so my qd won’t stay but I’m not sure if that would be the case for everyone I’m assuming it’s more to do with my barrel profile. Might be a fix if I can find a shorter qd. Still 5 stars for me

   As others have said in their reviews, mine came with a few cosmetic dings. Because of this, I rated it as 4-stars instead of 5. For a handguard in this price range, I was a little disappointed to see that. I'm sure Midwest Industries would have made it right, but the imperfections weren't bad enough to warrant going through the return process. I used some Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black to touch it up and moved on.Besides that, this handguard is well-built. It's rigid, perfectly machined, and feels like quality in the hand. The lockup is very tight on the barrel nut, and the new torque plate of this generation will ensure it stays put. The spacing between the anti-rotation tabs was a little too narrow for my upper receiver, so a little filing may be necessary to make it fit. I don't see this as a bad thing — I'd rather it be a little too tight than not tight enough. This handguard will not ever move. I love MI products.

   Midwest is top tier when it comes to AR components and rifles in general.This one is completing my Wilson 300 HAM'R build and is just as awesomeas my 5.56 rifle that is ALL Midwest. Can't say enough great things aboutthese guys and their fantastic support and products!
