Bought the FSP cutout version of the handguard. You just have to be good at precision cutting using a powersaw or whatnot, to cut off the delta ring and spring, without even have to remove the barrel nut. The handguard itself has the cutout also for retaining plate behind the FSP, however, I cut and removed the handguard front retaining plate regardless, for a slimmer look and avoid accidental contact with the handguard itself when shooting, so that it's truly guaranteed free-float.

MidWest Industries knocked it out of the park with the 12.5” A2 FSP cut out version. I bought it for my SHTF rifle and love it. I have a PhaseII Colt M4 clone with the Daniel Defense versión and I like the MWI one better. The weight difference is negligible and the MWI has pre cut slots for swivel sling attachment points where the DD does not and it is half the price. Buy it! You won’t regret it!

Built like a tank and is exactly what I was looking for. Replaced stock m&p15 handguard. The only difficulty was that I had to use a dremel to remove the delta ring. Once they was removed, it was an easy install.

I wanted to go for the Block II aesthetic for my AR47, or my Block 47 I'm not calling it. If you dont want to spend 400 dollars for a Ris II rail from DD, this is probably the next best option that will still provide a solid free floating design that will retain zero and not interfere with the harmonics of the barrel. Installation is not hard, trust me, but it is more involved than some other options. You will need a dremel with metal cutting wheels, and a pair of pliers and maybe a pair of snap ring pliers but you probably dont need them. Theres instructional videos on YouTube if you need guidance on how to install. Its relatively straight forward.

I was stoked to find a free float handguard that allowed me to keep my Fixed front sight. This was an easy install with a quick dremel to the delta ring. It’s firm on the rifle with no wiggle and the extended quad rail was exactly what I wanted.

First of all, Who is this Clay guy who gave a 1 star review? He obviously did not due his research and read the description about these rails not including a barrel nut and shame on him for not knowing that almost all billet upper receivers are not miI spec so of course the rail is not going to fit! Your a moron! I can attest to Midwest Industries Inc rails being very bombproof and of very good quality. With an operator background I have personally ran these midwest industries rails and beat the heck out of them without a single failure. Please people, do your research first before buying and putting up a non informative review!
