The Prometheus SC consists of the Dolos take-down system as well as our SC, carbine length handguard, and is our low-snag option. Installing this kit on an existing AR15 or new build will allow you to drastically decrease the footprint of your AR rifle or pistol for efficient storage or discreet transport, with a repeatable zero each time it is assembled. To add an additional barrel setup for caliber changes, etc., you will need to purchase an additional handguard kit or lock collar. Note: The holes machined into this handguard will accept MLOK accessories. To time the handguard you will need a Yankee Hill Machine Jam Nut (YHM-9433). Take a look at our MC or MM handguards with an integrated picatinny rail. We used this for a custom AR pistol build in 9mm in conjunction to a side-folder stock assembly to create a discrete carry platform which fit into a small unassuming messenger bag. The lockup is tight and accuracy should suffice for a short barreled platform.A couple of notable discrepancies…the handguard threads are not cut such that when tightened onto the QD nut that the rails align at the 12 o'clock position. The handguard must be backed off a bit (which creates some lateral movement) and then anchored using the 3 hex screws at the lower end of the handguard. This did seem to be relatively rigid but it was questionable as if the flange was going to take the tightening of the screws without cracking. In the end, all ended up snug…I'd just prefer a better clocking of the threads or at least some sort of jam nut, I'm not sold on the clamping approach of the hex screws.Next, there is absolutely no reason that they cannot supply a spanner tool for tightening the barrel nut. No one is going to readily have this special thin-wall socket/spanner which leaves one to attempting to tighten the nut by tapping the nut castellations with a drift & hammer. Certainly not the best method for appropriately torquing a barrel nut.

I have always wanted a shorter takedown system. This is the one. It is well made, and It is a very good design. The system tightens the barrel to the receiver quite well and the barrel does not have any play. I went out, shot it, and my bullet placement was right on the bulls eye at 100 yards. So it stays tight during shooting. I should have taken it down and reassembled it to see if the point of landing changed. (next time.) The only negative is that It came with a carbine length hand guard and I need a midlength. Also the gas tube sticks out when in takedown mode and the user needs to make some type of protective case for the gas tube. Mine was backordered so it took awhile to get it and ups was really slow. It was here in my city over the weekend and ups waited till monday to deliver it on a work day.

This kit is great .But do not forget to get the barrel stop, its not part of the kit ,But U NEED IT.Assembly is easy just put a little anti seize on the handguard threads, and locktight on the locking ring screws. Now njoy

I will say that the installation had to be done 4 times. Overall, good quality. The problem that I find is that the handguard rail does not line up with the upper receiver rail. I should have just gone with the non railed handguard. I emailed customer service and they did reach out to me in a reasonable time frame. I would buy this again. Make sure that you use blue loctite where they say and DO NOT let the bolt slam forward with the barrel off!

Excellent Product… I would recommend the Pantheon Arms Barrel Stop also to keep everything nice and tight.Perfect fit for my latest build, which was built around the this Pantheon Arms Prometheus DOLOS Take-Down Kit.I went with the Yankee Hill 9.200" TJ Competition Series Forearm and the with the Sylvan Arms Gen. 2 1-3/16-16 Folding Stock Adapter. Nice and compact Pantheon support is excellent and very knowledgeable,

I installed this on my backpack build and loved it. it works flawlessly once you get all your settings in place. would recommend to anyone and would use it again. I would also recommend getting another set and do a .223/5.56 barrel so you can interchange and have two calibers for one pistol/rifle.
