The Superlative Arms patented Bleed Off, direct impingement, gas block for the AR15 platform adjusts the gas flow by bleeding the gas out of the block instead of restricting the flow like conventional adjustable blocks. Results: The pressure used in the block is reduced only to the amount required to drive the bolt carrier. The remaining gas / pressure are bled out of the block allowing the system to run much cleaner and cooler. Reduction of felt recoil. Patent pending adjustment detent is located outside of the block and therefore no contamination. The gas adjustment screw does not restrict the gas flow; therefore there is no erosion or seizing of the screw / no loss of detent due to carbon build up. Although it is removable, we have added a safety mechanism, which stops you from unintentionally backing the screw all the way out. When using SBR’s and / or suppressors the bleed off port allows the excessive pressure to be exhausted out of the block reducing blow back. Please note that a roll pin is not included. I'll Be honest – I haven't installed this on my rifle build yet so I might see if I can do a follow up review, but I can tell you from just seeing/handling the part that it is built with the utmost quality. This "Spikes" gas block is actually just a re-branded Superlative Arms part. They (both) are known for robust quality and innovation – two of the reasons I chose this gas block over a myriad of others available. The other primary reason I selected it is the proprietary "bleed-off" valve that bleeds off excess gas as opposed to dumping it in your receivers/boltcarrier group. Like I said: we'll see how it performs when my build is complete, but going by these two companies reputations – I'm sure it's going to function as awesome as it looks and seems to be built!

Adjustable gas blocks are a must when running suppressed. Spikes can be hit or miss but this one is a hit. Would definitely buy again for a future build. Everything it says it does, it does. I feel like they could do better on the price though.

Rebranded superlative arms bleed off gas block to spikes tactical. Seems very nice. Was same price as superlative arms bleed off. Ordered it cause optics planet dont have superlative arms stamped one. Good finish. Would buy again.

It was easy to install the Spikes Tactical Adjustable Gas Block. It is the exact same product as Superlative, except the Spikes Tactical Logo. The installation was easy. My barrel came with one dimple and I added the second one by tightening the first set screw down on the dimple and transferring the second drill point using the second tapped hole in gas block. Follow the directions and you will have your rifle’s gas system optimized after a few rounds. The adjustment screw has clicks you can feel. After winding the screw out 4-1/2 CCW turns I started turning the screw CW until the rifle failed and to eject. Then one click CCW and it cycled. Fully gassed, it was ejecting almost 1 o’clock. After adjustment, it ejected about 3 o’clock. I was able to reach through hole in my hand guard and make adjustments without taking the hand guard off. The key is to use the a hex key a ball type end. Very satisfied with this product in regards to the fit, finish and function.

To give credit, this is designed by superlative arms with spikes logo stamped on it. That said, it's the best adjustable gas block out there. It vents any excess pressure beyond what you set it at. I run this on a 7" barrel ar15 with and without a suppressor with no adjustment of the gas block. I run this on a 18" ar10 with and without a can with no needed adjustments. Set it and forget it.

After I purchased one of these adjustable gas blocks, I decided they are required on all of my AR platform rifles. They adjust with ease, fit well and even have an option for a dimpled barrel, which I prefer over the clamp on design. They do cost a bit more than your standard gas block, but the range of adjustability is 100% worth the cost.
