Machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum, the R-ONE line of AR Handguards & Forends are designed with size and weight in mind, providing the perfect handguard for your lightweight build. Our proprietary ATLAS attachment system is a durable and dependable mounting platform, maintaining a slim profile while still providing the strength and stability customers have grown to love from Aero Precision handguards. ATLAS. The new Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS) is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It features 2 mirrored tapered locking nuts that provide evenly distributed clamping pressure across a custom engineered barrel nut with use of a turnbuckle screw. A ratcheting detent further secures the design while providing positive registration during installation. By design, the even pressure of the ATLAS system avoids distortion of the handguard often seen with current applications during installation. ATLAS Handguards are designed to match seamlessly with our M4E1 Threaded Upper Receivers. Additionally, they are compatible with any Mil-Spec AR-15 upper receivers as well. However, they may not be compatible with billet upper receivers due to indexing tabs. *All hardware mounting parts are included with the purchase of an ATLAS Handguard. I love the diameter of the hand hold. It also fits like a glove. Installation was very very easy. The color of the FDE matched everything perfectly for me. I can’t see a reason to spend more on a hand guard.

This is a beautiful ceracoat I'm never disappointed with Aero precision products, the price and quality is perfect. I love the locking mechanism this rail provides, So I now have 2 and will replace all my weapons with it.

Great hand guard but if you are going to use it with the 5.5in barrel you will not be able to shoot with a suppressor. The barrel is 1/2in too short or the hand guard is 1/2 in too long.

I run my small business bids using this simple concept. Good- Fast -Cheap. Pick two. In comparing apples to apples; this rail hit all the marks. As a quick disclaimer:If you want a stiff scout mount rail- go Geissele-M4 Federal. If you want a medium strength – still LW rail that comes with (imho) everything- Go BCM MCMR. Expo Arms for Cheap and good. Stiff compared to the R1.The Atlas R One is a light weight easy on-off rail. A caveman like me can do it.The rail can flex when a few pounds are applied to the front (never affected my 1st or subsequent shots on irons). Add on 1913 rails and g10-rail covers do lend some stiffness to the assembly.The single wedging bolt setup is secure but takes some attention to detail when starting the threads. Price was approx. $120 which was awesome.It only gets 4 stars because the powder-coat was too thick where the wedges interface the rail. I add lube and tighten a little more each day. The wedge nuts protrude 1/16”on each side at the moment.The grey is dark and black g10 mlok covers still contrast well. Arrived double boxed with the barrel nut and tool. I’d box out the bottom of the hand guard to create space between the gas block and mlok screws. I’d also lengthen the barrel nut and add a 2nd wedging bolt. This would add the desired stiffness .Atlas R-2?Thanks for reading. Stick to anodized for easy installs.

The Aero Precision Atlas R-One is a great Handguard. It is lightweight, easy to install, locks up well, and has plenty of real estate to mount to. The coating is well done. I own a few of these and have had zero issues with any of them.

Got the 12.7 inch OD Green handguard to replace the Atlas S-One that came with my 14.7 inch pencil barrel M4E1 upper in black. So glad I decided to ditch my OCD and get the OD Green. It gives the gun a bit of flare. Like the full picatinny rail on top as opposed to the S-One handguard. Now I can install my rail light tape switch. The mounting system is easy to install and works very well. Very happy with this purchase.
